Hello society I am Perspective

by Drew Gold   Feb 15, 2007

Work hard, stay in school

dye your soul
with the green stain of fortune

listen to the dead ones
-- the ultimate and only success

publish your affection
in hardcover copies

deal addiction.

the f^%$ed up mass of strangers
puddled in the rain

tip your tongue with hostility
then scream to be noticed

watch as desperation
strangles personality.
the distant form of a friend
bent on control:

feel the energy drain,
watch the subtle change.

watch all respect fold
under the weight of need

watch the famous ones
in commercials, promising
kisses of the future product...

watch as

change the channel.

watch the lovers derange,
creating reality with words

watch a facet of yourself
die within the extending arms
of time

end your sentence with a period,

start it with a plus

watch as death
never happened; as change broke
through time

watch clocks and banks
and change and thank
god that he's here,

playfully hiding inbetween the beat
of your ever-elusive heart
