The Day I Died

by Gasttlee   Apr 2, 2007

The day I died
was like no other.

I was pierced
by a dart of demons.

From my body
flew black blood
brutal as stone.

Torment was endless
raging as a parasite.

I drowned in darkness
like a sick drunk
diving in the ocean.

My oxygen depressed
as a room without air.

The more shadows came,
the more darkness followed.

Only at my last breath
did I come to realize
that dusk would be my life
forever.

I became something.
Something I never even thought possible.

I became a shadow
like none ever seen.
I became darkness itself.

A mystery of the night
sending off a real fright.

I have no regrets,
for the day I died
was the day I lived.

    Very powerful. Chilling. Mysterious.

    I drowned in darkness
    like a sick drunk
    diving in the ocean.

I love how you compared it to this. It makes you think of how you would feel before you die

    Wow.
You know when I read really good dark poetry, especially when it talks of alcohol, I think of Edgar Poe.
    No Lie.
    he's amazing. (:
    Lol, anyway.
I thought of him when reading this.
And, that says a lot from me...
