Pieces Of You

by aDORKable x3   Nov 25, 2007

Scattered across the beach, like pebbles,
Are the pieces of you;
Each footprint washed away, yet still there, somewhere.

Each grain of sand holds onto a memory,
A laugh, a smile, a tear drop;
But would they be the same together?

Each piece of you is divided amongst the stars,
The ones that looked over you that day;
The ones that are still there, behind the clouds.

Your tears have been splayed across the sands,
As was your laughter;
Yet, was it enough to hold you here?

No, of course not, you were much more than that,
You were free from common constraints;
But a piece of you will always be here.
