A Dreamland of Beauty

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 29, 2008

In a winter wonderland of snow,
There's pixie dust falling so low.
The breeze among the trees,
What a sight to see!

No more flowers on the ground,
There's glitter all around,
What a dreamland of beauty,
I wish it was all for me!

Ponds will turn into skating rinks,
The ice is so pure you'll never sink,
There's so much joy in the winter,
It's like an amusement center!

The heavens open up their truth,
And let it all come down loose,
The crystals from high above,
As white as a baby dove.

The new snow stuck on the trees,
Gets my attention and quickly stops me,
Its dazzling beauty of white,
Makes me say, What a pretty light!

When the sun rises in the morning sky,
It reflects its light to the snow that lies,
The colors of such a mixture,
Make such a breathtaking picture!

Upon this winter season,
There will always be a reason,
To say, I want the summer sand,
But how could you,
In this Winter Dreamland!

Aww, I liked it. The title reminded me of this book I read called "Dreamland". I loved that book. Anyways, I thought the flow was off a bit, and some of the rhymes felt forced. Also, some of the words didn't really rhyme well, but I loved the idea! :]

    Keep writing!
