Waiting For You

by Baby Rainbow   Nov 27, 2015

You've been gone for so long
but I still can't accept a world without you,
it leaves too much pain
and space in my heart.

I never meant to let you down,
I only walked away
because there were secrets I couldn't tell you,
things I couldn't talk about!

I never meant for my poison to infect you,
I tried to show you no affection,
but every time you kissed me again,
it only reminded me
that you accepted every single part of me.

And although it's been eight lonely years
since you closed your eyes
and took the breath that was your last,

I find myself awake in the middle of the night,
waiting for you to come home.

Heart-wrenching piece! I know words can't even convey the sorrow in which you feel, the yearning for them to return and come home where they belong and are loved. So sorry for your loss. It makes me think the time or amount of years is at times, insignificant, because this person can still live in your heart. This person impacted you in a way no one can duplicate. I hate the guilt in this though, hope you don't beat yourself up. It also reminds me we may walk away because we are scared to be too open or vulnerable, we can barely find it within ourselves to admit certain things so how can we share with another yet?

    Emotional piece. *hugs*
