It Takes Time

by AmberSherrellxxIve Been Sitting Here Trying To Find Myselfxx   Feb 11, 2008

The memories consume her
The pain etched deep
The tears clog her throat
Unable to speak

Dying inside
Her heart's ripped apart
Lost in this loneliness
Lost at how to start

Over a year together
Just thrown away
No longer forever
Why couldn't you stay?

She runs her fingers
Through her hair
"Someone wake me up
From this nightmare!"

The tears continued to fall
Her whole body ached
She felt like she was dying
How much more could she take?

She stared at the phone
Never did it sound
And as reality struck
Tears hit the ground

He wasn't coming back
He left without a trace
Mascara ran down her face
What a big disgrace

A fallen angel
Left without love
Now all she could do
Was look above

She could pray for the hurt
To stop on a dime
But she knew it wouldn't happen
It would take time...

Good ending stanza. Your work's always got a nice flow to it. I liked your stanza where she runs her fingers through her hair, cuz you can picture it, and I like being able to visualize what i'm reading!
