Bubbles

by StandStill   Feb 12, 2008

Sitting on a cool wall
in the sunshine of the fall
did i blow bubbles
completely innocent, devoid of trouble

each bubble carried a wish
up into the heavens
toward the stars
all the way to mars

i watched them float away
perhaps they'll return another day
they floated into the pale blue sky
o how they did float, how high!

each bubble carried a wish
up into the heavens
toward the stars
all the way to mars

my wishes reached God's throne
where in the moonlight, they shone
and God took mercy on my soul
and granted the one wish i did to him dole

each bubble carried a wish
up into the heavens
toward the stars
all the way to mars

and god sent the beautiful angle to me
with starlight in his hair
never more did i wish
for i had not a single care

now i sit with my angel
high upon a cloud
and i look down
and i catch the bubbles and sing joyously and loud

each bubble carried a wish
up into the heavens
toward the stars
all the way to mars
