BESLAN. terrorism.

by Lizaveta   Feb 13, 2008

The leaves fall slowly with a rustling sound
To the roof of the school, and you feel
In the air all the screams, all pain and wounds
That this place has experiences 3 years ago.

Their first day in school, they'd waited for it
Little innocent kids smiling, so happy, oh God.
Their parents so glad and proud of their kids....
The monsters who did it had a heart made of mud.

They occupied the school, started killing the kids,
Kept them inside for 3 days, guns ready to shoot
Three days of death, three endless days of fears,
When the life of a kid depend on terrorists' moods.

It happened 3 years ago, September, 1st
Three eternal days till September, 3rd
Why? What had these kids done to pay such cost?
To pay with their lives? What's happened to the world?

Rest in peace.

This poem is dedicated to the Beslan kids who died in the terror act (2004). The school was occupied by terrorists for 3 days and they killed lots of the kids.

Great poem. The emotion was captivating and the flow was on point. The fact that you put a tragedy into such beautiful words is wonderful so kudos for that. Perfectly written. 5/5
