Back from the war

by sarah   Feb 14, 2008

I turn my head as you walk through the door
I never thought youd come back, and here you are
Limping towards me from the Iraq war
Your uniform is ripped and you look so sore
You look so much different from before
Your face is ghostly white and you look sad
But nevertheless youre home, and Im glad
I know what you saw is something you cant ignore

Come with me, and Ill take care of you
I promise that Ill make things alright
Let all of your scrapes and scars mend
I know it is hard but youll make is through
And while youre not there, the others will fight
And hopefully someday this war will come to an end
