I'm Nothing

by Unseen Exposure   May 19, 2004

So low, so far down beyond redemption,
So broken and frayed beyond correction,
Life is nothing without having someone there,
Happiness is impossible unless someone cares,
No one has found a place for me in their heart,
A place where I am no longer an untouchable,
And I can’t be ripped apart,
One person to just be there for me is all I’ll ever ask,
I never knew it would be such an uneasy task,
If anyone comes looking, I’m hidden in my cove,
It’s dark and the cold nothingness slips between my bones,
I wish I could be something, better than I am,
I wish someone were there to tell me “You can.”
I am nothing, nothing but a lonely and lost soul,
Trapped inside a body where my days are growing old,
Good enough for no one is all I’ll ever be,
But now I’m on a path where I’m determined to be set free,
As I fade into the sorrow and depths of the night,
I know the decision I’ve made is right.

Excellent stanza, I can strongly relate, all I ever wanted was someone to truly be there with me, I used to dream of a companion, well, take care, excellent poem.
