Ghost*

by Paige Lea   Feb 24, 2008

Walking through the dark shadows
I wait in the dead of night
Slipping around cracks and corners
So I am far out of sight

I see you there, while your sleeping
And I know that you now dream
But what puzzles me now, is I'm way over here
And still, you start to scream

Your eyes pop open and with a begging gasp
You breathe yourself to life
I creep further into the corner now
And your look cuts through me like a knife

You swing your legs over the edge of the bed
Your feet touch the cold floor
You stand and search for the light switch on the wall
That is over here, next to the door

I shift in my place, as you walk over now
And I'm hoping you don't notice me
You flick on the light and squint your eyes
As you look for something you can't see
