You always hurt the ones you love,
"Its for the best" "You couldn't help it" "You were pushed" or any other words.
For that is what they are, just words,
A glaze we apply to ease our pain.
We stand on principles, things we believe,
No matter if we believe that a tree is a wall or a cat is a dog.
"It's the PRINCEIPLE of the thing"
But what is a principle when it hurts you and those you love.
"Believe in god you heathens" and they have fire and swords to make them believe.
Yet they say their god is one of love.
"I have compassion and understanding"
but only if you are the same as me.
We have laws that govern they way we live,
but what are laws to our own inner beliefs.
And what are our own inner beliefs when they only hurt ourselves?
We can drag out a soap box, and preach at the world.
We can hold them close and private.
But do we trample our selves with hob nail boot,
to prove a point.
When is enough too much
And too little a mountain.
