I don't want you to go

by barbara   Mar 1, 2008

When you come in my eyes are red
and my cheeks are flushed of color
I'm usually holding my head
looking at you with fake valor

you smile at me sweetly with a look that says worry
and ask me if everything is alright
i tell you I'm fine just been in a hurry
so ill sleep on the couch tonight

you know that i love you but wonder still
because for three years we slept side by side
trust that i love you and always will
even if sometimes i seem to hide

and pay a little more attention when you ask if im okay
sometimes i don't want to worry you
you deal with your issues every day
not worrying you with it is the least i can do

when you come in i dry my eyes
and pretend i just woke from a nap
but the inner me i begin to despise
because i know i am feeding you crap

you walk away as to give me my space
because clearly i don't want you to know
but sometimes i just want to see your face
sometimes i don't want you to go...

Another great poem! I really enjoyed this poem but there was a few flow errors that made it difficult for me to follow along. Otherwise, amazing. 5/5

Another very well-written poem! The flow was good, the word choice was decent, and I loved the concept! 5/5 -- Grammar please :P lol
