Not a thing to be fought

by Valiantpenguin   Mar 5, 2008

Lost in the darkness
She was alone for so long
Family, friends
She felt betrayed, useless
Ridiculed for being different
The constant harsh words
Heard everywhere she went
About to give up on life
Felt there was no use
No one ever stayed around
Everyone would just leave her in the end
Afraid to show her true colors
She developed a profile, another self
A face, an attitude
To go with that they all thought
She became cold, heartless
Wouldn't let anyone get close
Then she wouldn't get hurt
But she let her true self out
But once, and she got burned
"I love you" is what he said
She returned it, but with truth
He left her in the end
She wasn't easy enough
Then one day she met a boy
With a beautiful smile, and beautiful eyes
He was sweet, kind, honest
She didn't pretend with him
From day one, she felt she knew him already
And within a week, she felt she was in love
This story may have a happy ending
But then again, it may not
But she will love him truly, deeply
Love is not a thing to be fought
