No Longer Your Lover

by Soulful Ensemble   Mar 7, 2008

I can tell, the end of the road is near,
Where you'll let go of my hand and disappear.
I'll never breathe again the same way,
Always thinking of the things I should've said.

What about our one year's love?
He doesn't know you, no.
His hands are cold under his gloves,
How can you say you love him so?

I held and kissed you too,
I understood your words and grew.
Still, you can't decide what road to go through,
I'm waiting at one end and he is, too.

Where did I go wrong my pretty jewel?
I knew the rules and tried to follow through.
You loved me even though I was just a fool
What made it fine to say goodbye and be so cruel?

Why bother with words,
When what you can do with actions has more worth?
In the long run I'd like to be remembered,
Why would I want my heart dismembered?

Its such a sad shame you have no pity,
And your voice doesn't sound as pretty,
When you're telling me its over
And I'm no longer your lover.
