Whom I Care More Of

The way he always listens to my problems
The way he always seems to understand
The way he's always there for me to lean on
The way he's always there to hold my hand

I know he loves me so much
And I love him too
I know I cannot live without him
But what can I do?!

I love my family
Because they've always been there for me
And I know if I leave them
They'll be hurt more then I could ever be

Will I betray my parents?
Or will I be betraying my love?
This is just a question
Of whom I care more of

I know my parents just want me to be happy
And I know my parents will never be wrong
So I don't want my parents to think I think so
So I guess I'll have to be strong

I'll just have to follow my heart
Now I see the path it shows
I hope when I look back
I won't regret the path I chose

This poem is not true. i wrote it as a quick poem for my drama production for GCSE at high school!

    I know this poem is not true, but i can really relate to it seems as though I had been in this position once before. It's a excellent poem if you only had written it for your class. I bet they enjoyed it :)
    I like how you don't tell us as well which way you chose, and that you leave us to figure it out. Gives the reader that little bit more. Great poem.. Keep up the good work.

    Very good write. The flow was wonderful (not all over the place like most) Also, the emotion and the fact that person behind the voice was actually torn between her parents and her love was perfect throughout. Overall, perfectly and beautifully written =)
