War ends

by Bekka Smekka   Mar 14, 2008

By the way this poem was written in my S.O.S.E class when i was bored. we are studying world war 1 and thats what gave me the inspiration. hope you like it!!

Gunfire sounds,
as the war cries start.
Drums beat through the earth,
with my punding heart.

Men fall down,
with cries of pain.
The blood of their death,
here remains.

So many men,
so many lives.
Fathers and husbands,
to children and wives.

Their sadness and grief,
will not wash away.
But the colour of hope,
to begin a new day.

The end of the war,
begins with a sigh.
No more will suffer,
and no more will die.

Aww i like it! it has a really positive and optimistic ending. i like 'the colour of hope', its a good contrast to the imagery of blood
