Newborn

by Niels   Mar 14, 2008

Waking up under the first light of dawn,
Wet smell of falling rain.
Laying on the grass of God's lawn,
Your mind being washed from all strain.

Walking down a gold paved road,
Sunlight shines on the fields of corn.
Leaving behind the path you once rode,
Destiny accepting you're one of the newborn.

Watching to the dark forest in the distance,
The smile on your face warms your heart.
Having the strength to neglect it's existence,
Embracing the sound of a new start.

Yet there are still many crossroads on your way,
Many steep mountains you have to climb.
On the road of life you can easily astray,
May God show you the right one in time.

Follow it, till you reach the tunnel at the end,
Close your eyes and let your soul fade away.
May you travel new blessed roads, my friend,
For I'll spend my days down here, and I'll pray.
