Doesn't Matter

by Rachel RTVW   Mar 15, 2008

A child dies of cancer
One born premature
Another's life was taken
Mother couldn't take no more

Drunk driver kills six
Headlines read one day
Crack addicts, alcoholics
Doesn't matter if we pray

Tragedies aren't bias
Know not wealth nor fame
Children left without fathers
Doesn't matter who's to blame

Woman shot by ex husband
Father of four dies from MI
Surrounded by such sorrow
Doesn't matter if we cry

Roadside bomb kills seven
Soldiers proud and brave
Money will go to nursing homes
Doesn't matter if we save

Tomorrow's never promised
Cherish each day, love and share
Even if you do your best
Doesn't matter, life's unfair

This poem is so true, sometimes it seems like the good ones are taken.Your rhyming and flow are so smooth that you don'y really think about it,you just get lost in the message.Excellent!

Rachel,This poem brings home an important truth, that we need to value the time we have with people, because you never know what the next minute will bring.I don't think you need to change anything! Excellent write.
