Hurt

Do you know how much it Hurts
Each day she puts on a smile
She plays it off, she plays it cool
She knows it's not worth the while

Do you know how much it Hurts
When she looks herself in the eye
Seeing her reflection in the mirror
Makes her want to run and hide

Do you know how much it Hurts
To not want to go home each day
To be afraid of what lurks there
It makes her want to run away

Do you know how much it Hurts
Like when everyone just walks on
The world chose to turn around
Not caring that the girl has gone

Do you know how free she is now
When she finally experiences release
She sees her body lying there
She can feel that she's at peace

Did she know how much it Hurt
To see her body so lifeless
To late to show her that I cared
Again she leaves me - a mess

Did she no how much it Hurt
The guilt that will be here forever
She'll never know how much I cared
My friend, My baby, My daughter

This is my first post.. Just trying to see things through the eyes of another, my mother in this case.
