The Untold Sorrow

by Xx Chrissi xX   Mar 17, 2008

We all know the stories,
The living create,
But the dead have no voice,
No words to dictate.

They can't tell their story,
Show the love and the pain,
The sadness and sorrow,
They felt time and again.

This woman seemed so happy,
No one knew her distress,
'Til one day she fell off a building,
Cos she tripped up on her dress.

There's video evidence,
That this is how it went,
But if that wasn't what they thought,
Her planning would have been misspent.

She meant for that trip to happen,
That's why she wore the dress,
Nobody knew but she could no longer,
Cope with all the stress.

She never lived a happy life,
The one they thought she did,
They never saw the bruises,
That she purposefully hid.

From the day that she was born,
It was clear they didn't care,
She'd lie there in her cot,
Crying for parents that weren't there.

As a toddler she was more hassle,
And her parents got annoyed,
They started to hit and toss her about,
It was something she couldn't avoid.

As a young girl she was quiet,
But her teachers thought her shy,
If they'd ever looked into her eyes,
They might have realized why.

Her dad died when she was twelve,
His drinking caused the crash,
She herself was in the car,
But got away with just a gash.

Life got even harder,
She was lucky just to eat,
Sometimes she wished she hadn't argued,
And had died in that back seat.

As a teenager she failed at school,
She was too busy trying to live,
And in the end she had to take a job,
Where men paid for what she could give.

She thought she found her escape,
When she married her decent man,
'Til there were angry arguments,
And he made her sleep out in the van.

She wanted to run away,
But she knew he would just follow,
In her whole life all her smiles were fake,
Her heart was always hollow.

But no one ever knew,
They thought her life was fine,
Never did she share her troubles,
Never did she whine.

Her story went with her,
Into that shallow grave,
No one ever knew,
How she was so very brave.

The life she lived was never easy,
But she tried her hardest still,
Until that day it became too much,
And she suddenly lost the will.

The will to try, the will to live,
She no longer had any more to give,
She no longer looked forward to tomorrow,
So she gave up, with her untold sorrow.

- This is kind of an old poem that stayed on my computer for ages without being finished. I was just going through them all and decided to finish this one off.
Probably not one of my best but i like the meaning behind it. Though I'm not sure the meaning is very clear.
