Dying Memory

by Paige Lea   Mar 20, 2008

So, here I sit, alone again
Writing out my pain
Yes, it's just another rhyme
A poem about the rain

Yes, I know, I write a lot
Mainly for one thing
I never knew I'd hurt so bad
If I couldn't hear you sing

Raindrops fall all over me
Down my face and through my hair
Reminding me of past regrets
Taking me to places where

I know that I need not return
But memories replay
And as they come, the rain returns
As I wish today away

I'm bleeding from your memory
I'm burning from your voice
I'm screaming from the things you said
I'm dying from your choice

I'm waiting for a mourning time
I'm hoping it will pass
I'm crying for broken friends
I'm lying for a past

So if you read this and feel the need
To scoff and shake your head
Then I refuse to even care
I'd rather be dead
