My Angel

I lay in the grass
As the sun falls away
Watch the light fall to black
And all the stars come out to play.

The angel in the sky
The one I see there every night
Spreads a smile upon his face
And showers the world in light

Those golden eyes oh how they shine
Brighter than the sun
It's hard to believe he loves me
And he thinks that I'm the one

Everyday I ask myself
As I look at my angel in the sky
What does this angel see in me
Plenty of girls are far better than I

But don't think I'm not thankful
For this dear angel's love
I think of him all the time
He is who I've been dreaming of

I love this angel dearly
More than even the moon
The only thing I can think to tell him
Is a simple "I love you"
