A New Day

Nights are cold,
But the thought of you warms me.
Days are lonely,
But the thought of you accompanies me.
Months are long,
But the thought of you passes the time.
You always seem to find your way into my mind in many different ways.

Like the wind you pass softly against my skin,
Whispering sweet nothings as you pass.

Like the sun you rise every morning,
Showing me your rays of warmth.

Like the moon you peek out,
Showing me that there's a new day ahead.

Like the leaves that fall in the autumn,
You show me that there is beauty to come.

Like the birds that sing for all to hear,
You sing me a sweet song to show your love.

Everywhere I look I can see your face,
Smiling down at me telling me it's okay.
I have no need to be alone on these many days,
Because I know that you're there showing me a new way.
