In the next life

by Dustin S   Mar 28, 2008

As I stare into the dark of the night,
I see something moving that gives out fright.
I see it, it sees me.
It looks at me, I look at it and see
I start to shake, from all his might,
I think to myself, "Where is the light?"
I close my eyes and hoped it would be gone,
But when I opened my eyes, he was on the lawn.
He slithers up to me and says in his cold, deathly voice,
"How do you want to die? It is your choice"
He stares at me, and I say to him, "How am I to know?"
He said, "If you don"t know, then say goodbye"
I say goodbye but not to my life, but to his lie.
I drop my book, and raise my hands for a fight,
But just as he was about to kill me, I saw light
And looked at the creature who wanted to kill me,
And said, "Who said I can not see?"
I blink and he is gone
And hope he will never return

"This poem is dedicated to the friend who I loved very much, and this was the situation he was in. He has past now, because the "creature" did return to finish what he started. I promised him I would dedicate a poem to him, and a promise is a promise. If you want to find out what the creature was, PM me."
