Still Free

by BluEyedMemory   Mar 29, 2008

She couldn't say,
What needed to be said...
It was embarrassing,
All the people
Looking at her.
Tears filled her eyes
When she got off the stand
He looked at her,
The same look.
he gave her that night...
That night was the reason
They were there,
The reason she couldn't
Speak, or believe.
She wished she could
Go numb,
and forget everything...
That night he took everything,
Her dreams. faith to love,
and her innocents,
He gets on the stand
and begins to lie,
He might as well
Just called her a w h o r e...
That is what he
Is making her out to be...
She begins to cry
She knows he is lying...
There is nothing that
She can do..
But sit there,
And day dream,
about that night...
She is woken by
The sound of the judge...
Proved Innocence
And all she can do
Is sit there
Knowing he took everything
and He is still Free....

~~~ Ok This poem is written for a reason. The truth is some people do have the courage to stand up for those who rape them. However, sometimes things don't turn out good.
    I'm sure this was hard to write because the emotions are so deep and so real that I could feel them throughout your piece. Well done. *5/5*
    O.k, interesting poem, unusual subject and you expressed emotions on truly strong way. It is little too cleat and simple for my taste, I think that it would sound better with some metaphors and unique expressions but overall nicely written.
