Lonesome Star

by Ana   Apr 1, 2008

There is but a lonesome star,
In a vast and thoughtless, empty night.
She weeps and she dances to and fro,
Her sour steps a woeful plight.

With each caress of fierce dry winds
Her aura dwindles, cracks and breaks.
The thousand songs of one dead night
Whisper words of lost mistakes.

Perched upon her heart's true home,
An unexpected blaze ascended.
The night cast to the fiery hell
Was worthy of making Satan offended.

She was cast to the sea of torturous rage,
The night being stifle, impairing and vile.
Her screeches drowned by the desolate sky
As the moon smirked, most sinful and guile

From dusk to dawn, the little star cried,
Her tears shining like diamonds alight
And on your knees, with a trembling gaze
You whisper prayers into the night.
