Ocean of doubt

by StandStill   Apr 2, 2008

Drowning in an ocean
made of fear and doubt
a helpless, hapless soul
water-filled lungs unable to shout

silently screaming
yelling in her head
praying for redemption
doesn't want to be dead

a wave of guilt falls on top
more suffocating than the last
in an ocean made of tears
pain leaves passers-by aghast

crashing, pounding screaming
slipping through the waves
when drowning in the sea,
it's not so easy to be brave

forgetting the fairy tales
and hopes for a better life
only thinking of the waves
reality sharper than a knife

no blue nor green
in this oceanic scene
just black and nothing
only a fool, an exiled queen

and she slips silently under
not a single soul will know
drowning in doubt and hate
suffocating on feeling low

*yes, i know. another ocean poem...sorry if you all are gettin seasick...*

I love sad poems that relate to the weather or ocean. It's amazing how you can relate the two topics together.

A wonderfull piece, with a beautiful flow. Keep it up..
