All You Do Is Sleep

by Soulful Ensemble   Apr 5, 2008

Why bother, when all you do is sleep?
Why wonder if you ever weep?
I've never seen emotions coming through
And you don't try as hard as you could.

You sleep too much, most of the day
Time is flying and im aging, so hey
Open your eyes to find a new way
And I wont feel so alone as i stray.

Sometimes I feel i'm floating in space,
And my voice is hoarse from yelling.
Nobody hears the words that chase the race
And their pace is rapidly melting.

Echoes do crescendo, but who really cares?
I look around at sleepy bodies, dead
Because their brains were empty, and bare
Like many rocks and stones that never bled.

You sleep too much and I forget your name,
Because it seems your voice has gotten lame.
What do I know? I never hear it anymore anyways
Your mind is in a trance and in a gaze.

If you were to open your eyes this way
And say hello to someone betrayed
Then I would take down the display
Outside the sleepy walls of grey.

Meanwhile, I'm lonely on the lawn,
My mind wonders where you've gone.
Sleep has got you dead and torn
So that at dawn I'm all forlorn.

Thank you. I'm open to people noticing me. Well-- not in the bathroom.
