I though she was my friend

by Pauly D.   May 24, 2004

I put all my faith in you,
All my lasting care.
I forgot all other things,
It was you, with me, my friend

I started to get comfortable,
With every passing day.
You were all that mattered to me,
You in every way.

When everything that matters to you,
Has been stolen, taken,
Your left in shambles, nowhere to turn,
You'll have nothing to care about today.

It's amazing how something so strong
Can just be simply thrown away.
There's really no valid reason for it,
Just to please your significant other

You said it'd probably be best, If we didn't hang out no more.
I see how it is, as clear as day,
Feelings have obviously changed, Friendships don't matter any longer.

This has changed my outlook on life,
Once a bright sun, now a dark shadow.
That first day that I couldn't say a word to you,
Because of his resounding demand,
I felt alone in the world,
I had truly lost my soul.

I walked down the hall, like any other day,
Except I couldn't talk to my best friend.
It was forbidden, banished, taken from me,
I just sat in class and cried.

You were truly my best friend,
And I honestly wanted the best for you.
Enjoy your life, you got what you wanted,
You don't have to suffer with me anymore.

    hey
This a 5 star poem... Loved it, but I wish you go smoother, but then everyone has his own style aint it right? ;)
I think NOTHING should get in the way of a good friendship, not even love. Nosy Fatimah, okay, I know I wouldn't allow it... Friendship will last forever ;)
So I wish you behave yourselves and work it out, and Jess allow me to say >> keep nagging till Paul smiles << ;)
    Good Luck!
