Weeping Willow

by StandStill   Apr 6, 2008

Weeping willow,
why do you cry?
don't you know the only way
you fail is if you don't try?

Little embers
at your base
yet, Weeping willow
you still have grace

Sweeping branches
witness another day
finding sanctuary
in the river's cooling spray

Weeping willow,
you won't burn down
the water holds you
in her, your sorrows will be drowned

So, lovely Willow
do not fear
the river is with you
ever near
