Another ocean, another girl

by StandStill   Apr 7, 2008

Cool, crisp air, on a heavy brow
hidding her footsteps behind her on the beach
leave no sound, no trace of where she's been
she doesn't want to be found..she's so far out of reach

She's crying again, sucking in sobs of clean air
so fresh, salty, but sweet, the air matches her tears
she feels so alone, so small in this big world
and she's drowning in an ocean of guilt and horrid fears

Nobody looks at her that way, she's not warm nor good
too ragged to be beautiful like other girls, different
and different in this world, this beach, means ugly,
it means she's alone, no hand to hold, the world indirect

The ebony waves with pale crests wash ever nearer
and they're right, the ocean calls to her, peace
all she wants is to look into the starlight and
feel her pain, her regret, her tears...all of it to cease

But who would give such a redemption
ugly girls don't deserve such a thing as that
so she walks alone, her only friends the waves
and her tears, upon the sand, their quiet pitter pat

    That was a gorgeously-sad piece =( But an amazing write, it could do with some full stops, however, I love all the emotion and the imagery;

Nobody looks at her that way, she's not warm nor good
too ragged to be beautiful like other girls, different
and different in this world, this beach, means ugly,
it means she's alone, no hand to hold, the world indirect

That is my favorite stanza, because I can really relate to it, I loved it 100% ^^

    Take care,
