Can you forgive?

Can you accept defeat,
From those that once kept you on your feet?
Can you accept these lies?
These lies that everyone keeps inside.
What about all those times,
When they all were once at your side?
Can you ever trust again?
Will your heart ever mend?
Betrayal is something new to you,
And you forgot what it is you should do.
So the truth is, can you forgive?
After all that’s happened?
