Matter...

by Solus   Apr 9, 2008

What does it matter that I choose not to sleep?

Dream not of deep forgotten seas.
Search not in murky realms for twisted trees.
Wander not within the worlds of night.
Keep not black memories within you sight.

Why should it matter I cry everyday?

Shed those sad tears of dread.
Keep those dark feelings locked in your head.
Hide those chains of evil tombs.
Take those hurts back to your hazy rooms.

It does not matter that alone I die.

Flee the voices and cold helping hands.
Remember the horrors brought by maddening sands.
Fight the losing wars fought in shade.
Know the raging battle is lost as you begin to fade.

None of this matters.....because in the end I don't as well.

This piece touched me deeply. There were too many times that I felt exactly like this.
Very powerful and intense poem. It sounds so emotional and sincere and it holds remarkable tones of excellently expressed sadness.
The ending is especially heartbreaking, sorrowful yet so true.
    Fantastically written piece.
