Band

Band is geeky nerdy and uncool
I don't get along with anyone
I sit in my corner making snide comments
about trumpets and tubas the worst of the lot

Their annoying jokes
their general stupidity
makes me gag and hate them all the more
why am I still in band?

Is it the music?
no, i'm sick of it.
Is it the couple of people i like?
no, they are in other classes.

the main reason is, I tell myself,
I love to play my horn.
but is that really the case, I ask,
as I take time to think.

Maybe i'm not so different myself,
Maybe I like the stupid jokes
and the idiotic comments.
Maybe I'm just like them.

My brain refuses to believe that
but does my heart?
I just can't tell
I really don't know,
Maybe I should Quit.
