When I Am Drunk

by Emma   Apr 10, 2008

I always know when I am drunk.
It's obvious to see.
People become much wittier
And irresistible to me.

I get much more confident.
And loud and brash and crude,
I blurt out every thought I think,
No matter how very rude.

I sway and stagger but don't spill a drop.
I dance better than I normally can.
I laugh off the embarrassment
When things don't go to plan.

But then I wake up the next morning,
Alone in bed again.
The drink helped at the pub last night,
But now it's back to pain.

It's much worse than a hangover,
This emotional hell.
My bedroom has turned into
An isolation cell.

Well i understand this feeling. Drink always clouds your judgement and makes you say and do things you would never normally do. If this is true you are still very young and will learn how to have a good time without causing yourself to wake up with regrets. It just takes time, i suppose you learn from expierance. Take care

Thanks for you comments and advice on my poem.
