Homeless

by Amber   Apr 12, 2008

Here I am once again all
dressed in rags, my clothes
have holes in them.

All the people that walk by
just stick their noses up and
plug them.

I am sorry I smell bad
but if you would lend me
some money I can buy
clean clothes and clean
myself up a bit.

But no you think I am a
fricken rat, worse you think
I am a disease, well I am not
I am like you just I have no money.

You tell me to get a job. I can't get one
because I smell, how weird is that
huh I need money to get money.

I guess I am never gunna get a home
or money or smell nice so why continue
living in this cruel world, Why not jump
off the bridge and end it all?

Maybe I am hoping that I will meet
a person who will lend me a few dollars
and let me move on but since I know
that will not happen I guess there is only
one way out...

One...
Two...
Three...
Four...

SPLAT! I go onto the sidewalk,
leaving one less homeless person
on the streets to beg you for
a dollar.

Amazing poem Amber, one of your best i'd say. The message it conveys is incredibly true, we're all blinded by our egos at times not knowing that a few dollars could save one's life.

Great job keep it up, you're amazing!

The thing i like most about this poem is the message behind it, thats very typical and happens most of the time, i thinks people should kinda accepted them well and help them start a life. Good work
