Angels in the Rain

by StandStill   Apr 15, 2008

Wings don't work
when the world is wet
but do they work
when the rain's in your head?

I think not,
oh, how sad
how angels keep drowning
in everything bad

Black rain,
and cold ice
numbness...
it sounds nice

But searing pain
and fire red
it's always pounding
in angel's head

When angels die
a light goes out
angels drowning
in girl-made doubt

Apologies aren't what they seem
screaming them at the top of your lungs
too bad girls are always too late
black rain's song seems to have been sung

Winding roads
slicked with wet
angels never
seem to deserve what they get

"Bring on the rain. Bring on the thunder"
