He Said

Black tears
and a broken heart
a doomed love affair
wrecked from the start

she needed him
he told her a lie
said he loved her but
never looked her in the eye

a week from a year
she was broken and alone
needed his voice
he wouldn't pick up the phone

60 pills in her body
his name what she called
he wouldn't grant her last wish
and left everyone appalled

begging she called him
just one last time
wanted his help
sent him the signs

no answer he gave
no compassion he sent
she tried to die
he cared not where she went

she saw his face
when she awoke in that bed
he wasnt there
it was all in her head

three days she spent
in the hospital room
he didnt come nor care
and she realized soon

i love you he said
never looked in her eye
