Love is pain

by HisBlueEyedAngel   Apr 19, 2008

You love me but you cannot define me, create me or wield me

I am not your hammer, your vice, your tool

If you love me, know me for I cannot—will not be framed

Immortalized in an eternal flame as some

God that you sought

You cannot!

When you showed me courage O loved you

Back

After all that you couldn't see I loved you

Back.

What possesses you to think that I'm

Definable, Malleable,

That I will conform?

You love a lie

You love what I could be, I should be

Nothing.

I am anything

And everything that matters to me

Matters though you want me

The feeling is mutual

It's nothing more than emotion

Some bitter drain of society that you call

Your ideals are not near mine

Expand on reality, possibility, passion.

Do you know?

While you're needing all these things

That I can't hope to siphon out of

My dreams

I can only deny

Here's my reply

I will not!

I will not break down beauty of self

To be us

As if we could do more

Be more

It's only in the individual where you

Can encourage the whole

Be whole.

I will not let go of dreams to live

An imitation

Of all I've hoped for

All you've become is a shadow of what

You want in lucid lies of compromises

Feel this burning

My heart cannot bare enough.

This intangible reality befit not of society

Lost in imagery you cannot contain

Be the same but don't be us

I will never understand or grasp

Trust in nothing

Hope in everything.

I am not an empty shell

But filled with ideas

To grow, shape and change

Forgotten life of freedom

Not encapsulate in America

Realized in my heart.
