Love letters and suicide notes

by StandStill   Apr 23, 2008

Oh, these beautiful words
carved across her skin
heartfelt poems,
where to begin?

"Roses are red
and so is my love
guess that's what happens
to broken-winged doves"

See these bitter tears?
yes, she cries as she writes
she knows it's so, so wrong
but this bullet she bites

"Violets are blue
as is the sea
please, open your eyes
look at me"

But nobody's listening
and the silence is loud
she's standing alone
head high, trying to be proud

"Yes, roses have thorns
they make you bleed,
but Lover, my dear,
you're the one that I need"

Beautiful words
paling in comparison
when Lover opens his eyes
too late, her life is fin

"Goodbye, blinded Lover
it's always fun while it lasts
wish you had seen me
and my heart made of glass"

So sorry is he
that he misread her cries
too bad he never looked close enough
never saw her pleading eyes

So one last poem
where guilty he rests
pain-ridden Lover
dying heart beating in his chest

"My angel fair,
I loved you so
But you shouldn't have done it
I love you, you know..
I'm coming to Heaven
I'll meet you at the gates
for I know in my heart
true love always waits"
