A hug and a 'I love you' means so much more ....

by June   May 1, 2008

When I was a kid my dad spoilt me ,
whatever I wanted he would buy it.
It was his way of saying 'I love you' ,
but I have since learnt having everything did not matter one bit.

Of course it is nice to have money and nice things ,
but I would much rather have had a hug from my dad.
You see he ran his own buisness so was always working ,
he wasn't the type to say 'I love you' which made me sad.

Then one day dad realised buisness was in a bad way ,
the recession was hitting him hard and he was to lose it all.
The money was running out fast and there were no more gifts ,
it was heartbreaking to have to watch dads buisness crumble and fall.

But there was good to come out of it all ,
he had to show his feelings and say the words too.
Thats when I learnt that anything money can buy meant nothing ,
because all I wanted and finally got was a hug and to hear my dad say 'I love you'.

    That was a marvellous poem...

All we want is love n care..... that can make us feel we r liked, wanted n loved.... itz that way we smile often or learn to smile be it any circumstance or time..

    Keep writing,

    Best wishes,

I think alot of people, and in my opinion, us guys, can really learn alot from this one. we are taught to be the provider but we also need to show compassion and love.
