Fields of Dead Flowers

by Painted on Smile   May 2, 2008

Through fields I run.
fields filled with flowers.
flowers cover every inch.
every inch on all sides.
on all sides as far as the eye could see.
the eye could see them all.
and they were all dead.
dead flowers covered that field.
that field through which I run.
I run away from the world.
a world of smiles and laughter.
smiles and laughter
that they want me to share.
I do not want to share in their happiness
and so I do not fit in.
I do not fit in so I run.
I run to find somewhere to hide.
to hide from that happy world.
a world so unlike me.
so unlike me that I do not fit.
I do not fit so I run.
I run through fields.
fields filled with flowers.
flowers covered ever inch.
every inch on all sides.
on all sides as far as the eye could see.
the eye could see them all.
and they were all dead.
dead flowers covered that field.
that field through which I run.
through which I run to hide from the world.
to hide from that happy world.
that happy world in which I do not fit.
I do not fit so i hide in that field.
that field of dead flowers.
dead flowers that mimic my heart.
my heart has died.
died from being torn.
torn to pieces.
pieces ripped out by bare hands.
bare hands that didn't care.
didn't care and just let my heart bleed.
bleed a crimson red.
a crimson red like the flowers.
flowers that were all dead.
dead flowers covered that field.
that field in which I hide.
I hide from that world.
that world of happiness.
happiness they want me to share.
I do not want to share their happiness.
and so I do not fit.
I do not fit and so I hide.
I hide in this field.
this field of dead flowers.
