Goodbye

by Ash   May 3, 2008

Trapped beneath demonic thoughts,
fighting these tears
that freely flow.
I thought I once
knew who I was.
Looking into the mirror,
who is that face I ask?

One day at a time,
is that the way to go?
But the thoughts change,
people constantly deepen,
their agonies and misconceptions,
was it all a lie?

I knew I had tried to hard.
Fought against myself,
the world,
the people that once
gave me a reason to live.
But seeking within them,
was it right to find
happiness at the cost of another.

I knew I was wrong to advice,
I tired my best to change my habit
but it stays the same.
I know I'm wrong to challenge,
you are your own
individual soul.
I'm bent on living alone...

Every new day...
was it really that bad.
Wondering if I'm walking,
walking alone or walking straight.
Good and evil,
it's a fight in the mind.
But it's a harsh reality,
within me I need to find.

Knowing what's lost
is no longer a gain.
Knowing that now
who'll remain?
You're gone and so are the rest.
Tears and confusion,
is it all I have?

I walked along the same path,
you and me...
the same goals shared.
Now it's all different.
I have to walk away.
But you'll never know the reason.
You'll think I'm a selfish friend,
you'll hate and curse.
But deep down you won't know....
That I'm leaving,
Cos I love you....

You have found your life,
the reason you'll smile,
and I can no longer,
no longer remain here...
I must now say goodbye.
