Sin

by Spoken Silence   May 4, 2008

With each sin you committed,
You left a everlasting mark on our skin.
An everlasting memory that can never be forgotten.
Leaving without a trace,
Or without a word,
Leaving a child to fend for itself.
No sin can be greater than one such as this.

You knowingly committed each and every one of those seven sins,
You could have committed them many times over.
All those lies you've told, no one can believe you.
All these things you are saying, no one can listen to you.

You always thought of yourself before anyone else,
Living life with the loss of others.
With people falling before you so you get to your path.
And once you are there, where you want to be.
I hope that you are happy,
Because no one will be here to watch you in your solemn victory.
All those people who you hurt to get on top, are gone.
All those who you thought you cared about, care no more.

If greatness is what you wanted,
You achieved it.
If hate is what you wanted,
You achieved it.
If living life alone is what you wanted.
You achieved it.
If this is all you wanted, then you have everything.
But this everything that you have,
Is nothing.

This poem can relate to many people, there are always people willing to push others down for their own benefit. You really touch that topic with strong words. What got to me was
"If this is all you wanted, then you have everything.
But this everything that you have,
    Is nothing. "
Because..no matter what you label success in life, it doesn't actually amount into anything if you've no one.
