Holocaust Soldier

by PHOEBIX   May 8, 2008

I am a soldier
I do what I'm told
The commander says 'Jump'
I ask 'How high, sir?'

I see the gaunt masks
Faces of the prisoners
They are undesirables
That is all I'm allowed to know

The faces blur before me
I dare not see more
I obey my commanders
They tell me what I need to know

The pain tries to reach me
I dare not feel it
I am a soldier
I do what I'm told
