Government, Society, And Us.

by Kaitlyn Gilbertson   May 16, 2008

Upper-class sororities creating mental images of how we should be.
Propriety overtaking individuality while it diminishes our freedom to express.
Insanity claws at us while we break ourselves in an attempt at society's acceptation.
Choking ourselves with laws and expectations fearing the one, tiny, yet massive rejection.

Dominator's of our lives, rise tall and lofty as we cry out on strike.
Defying these rulers, the creators of this circus, we end up detached from everything.
While they smoke their pipes, we inhale the fumes; and those kids are in the slums drug-dealing.
They see a perfect heaven from the million dollar deluxe homes, while children outside kiss the ground in search of a dollar.

Politicians go to the church and in the first pew they sing every song and pray every prayer.
Then they go home and steal more cash from the common people, they hoard their money and evade paying taxes too.
Government is corrupted anyway you look, but such things can clearly not be prevented.
Innocent people are massacred through politicians, and pleasant ideas gone sour by their crookedness.

This average world spins on edge at what has been formed.
While people think everything good has come from this American country.
But people here see different, with not so much freedom left now.
But if you wish to enter, beware because most has been left and fouled.
