I am naked

by Becca   May 21, 2008

I stand before you
naked
baring my soul
my tears tattooed on my body
with razor blades
and the pain
uncovered
my clothes
dropped
to the floor
like my pride
you can see the hurt
and my guilt
my past
carved
in my heart
here i am
naked
revealing myself
for you to see
the truth
take it all in
every piece
in every crease
at every angle
there's a story
the bruises and promises
a broken me
a vulnerable me
i'm giving you me
hoping you'll accept
all of me
open and blemished
i'm disclosing
my innermost secrets
exposed
and willing to be weak
i've taken down my walls
torn down my defenses
to present myself to you
i am naked
please don't look away

Really liked this poem. This is about someone who is crying out for acceptance and wants the other person to see and understand the pain and hurt they have been through. Very good.

Some of the words you used in this write were not what I would have used. this is purely because I could not have made it work the way you did.
Amazing sentance structure. It was up and down. but I could picture the rythmn.

I've touched on something similar but yours is so much better :P mine never really flowed like yours.

    Excellent work (Y) 5/5
