Revert to civilisation

by lost soul   May 23, 2008

I'm chained down and so lie still.
Why am I different to you?
Your putrid words make my mind ill.
And you know that it's true.

You laugh at me and yet you know,
This is who I am.
Remember playing in the snow?
I'm the sacrificial lamb.

Tears run like rivers in my dreams,
And you are well aware.
Your ignorance tears upon my seams,
You have stripped me bare.

You jeer and point your jokes at me,
Can't look me in the face.
You left me rather hurriedly,
You left without a trace.

But I can forgive you for the hurt,
That is not why I cry.
We once were two, we could revert,
There'd be a 'you and I.'

So can't we just be civilised?
Can't we just be friends?
Can't you see I've realised?
And I want to make amends.
