Vacancy

by A Fallen Dancer   May 25, 2008

My heart is a castoff
I am deserted, discarded
Give me anything
Anything to keep me Breathing
I'm in a place of my own
Lost and alone
Frightened of the possibility of escape
Here I go screaming my lungs out
Trying to get to you
My only, my only one
Can you see me?
You wouldn't even look over your shoulder
When you left me abandoned.
But now, now you look,
You look for me, the girl with the broken smile
The smile that can't quite reach
All the way to my eyes
Are you even alive?
Or am I just invisible?
I never quite realized how much I loved you,
Until you left me
And now my heart is collapsing
I always dreamed of love
Thinking it would be effortless,
The way the leaves so easily turn,
Turn colors in the fall
But oh how I was wrong
Are you lost?
Feeling alone?
Cause you left me vacant.
